Everyone’s a winner at the Modified Rugby Program Showcase

The GingerCloud Foundation and The Classic Wallabies last Saturday hosted their Modified Rugby Program Showcase and Star Outdoor proudly played a key part in supporting the event with their signage requirements.

The program is a new, modified form of touch-only rugby, developed by GingerCloud Foundation, where each boy and girl with a learning and perceptual disability has their own club PlayerMentor on the field supporting them.

A number of MRP exhibition matches took place on the day with many excited children participating in games.  The highlight of the day was seeing the first ever Classic Wallaroos match against Brothers women in a game of 10s with the Brothers team taking out the win.

Congratulations to the GingerCloud Foundation and The Classic Wallabies on a successful day of celebrating the inclusive power of rugby and continuing to advocate for children with disabilities. If you’d like more information about this wonderful organisation, please visit them at

Ray White – Elite Agent

Elite Agent Tells How to Build Profile and Longevity in Your Career

3 minutes with Mark Diamond, Ray White Bulimba

Being acknowledged as a true local expert and awarded by his peers and industry as a Ray White Elite Agent, Mark Diamond of Ray White Bulimba, Brisbane, knows a thing or two about building profile.

Having spent a few moments with Mark, we quizzed him about the rewards of having an active brand presence in his local community.

Q1. Building a strong brand reputation for Ray White Bulimba and yourself as an Elite Agent takes nous in marketing and advertising. What are the benefits of ‘in community’ brand presence as part of your strategy?

Building a brand presence in the local community is vital in creating longevity in your real estate career. Buyers and sellers will find it easier to relate to you as a person if they see you involved and supporting local events. It helps to build trust and credibility.

Q2. What sort of organisations and community events would you align your brand with?
Supporting local school fetes is the number 1 event I align myself to. This event attracts the largest community involvement, and is often held on a Sunday, which is the most convenient for our business hours. Several thousand people may attend a fete each year, giving great branding opportunity, while also supporting a good cause.

Q3. What sort of marketing mix works well for delivering a strong ‘in community’ presence?
The best marketing products I have found are branded marquees used at school events and branded rope up banners which can be hung on school fences.  Both provide high visibility and brand exposure.

Mark Diamond has proven himself to be a consummate professional dedicated to exceptional service and results.  We thank Mark for his time and sharing his experience with us.

Gold Coast Tower

Sharing in the Dream, a Visually Spectacular Gold Coast!

The Star team have been part of major preparations to dress up the largest sporting event staged in Australia this decade, the 2018 Commonwealth Games, now in action on the iconic Gold Coast.

Star Outdoor’s long-term relationship with the City of Gold Coast led to a cascade of high profile projects aimed to create a visually spectacular venue, showing it’s wears as a major international sporting venue and travel destination now, and into the future.

The team initially tendered to supply over 3000m of a specific watermelon branded Australia’s Gold Coast Fence Mesh, aimed to conceal building sites and non-presentable areas around the coast while maximising branding opportunities.

From here, project work became a plenty from various business partners working closely with the City of Gold Coast to prepare for the Games.

Did you say Scrim?

5,188 meters of branded, high quality scrim (or polymesh fabric) has been unrolled along fences and construction sites around the coast, including:

City of Gold Coast – Watermelon Mesh

It’s hard to miss 3000 meters of the specific watermelon coloured fence mesh are the City of Gold Coast. Very careful production took place to ensure quality control of this product!

Gold Coast Airport, Lendlease & See Civil

When you step off your flight, the first visual feast you see is of the airport.  We admit, it looks rather impressive with 1200 meters of mesh produced and installed by our team around the airport.

City of Gold Coast – Commonwealth House and Media/Business Centres

More than six high profile business sites and business hubs used for the Games have been specifically branded and dressed with high quality PVC and polymesh fabric scrim.

Special Project - City of Gold Coast

Lifeguard Towers wrapped in the honorary 2018 Commonwealth Games Lifeguard, Borobi.

30 Lifeguard Towers along the entire coast line are now wrapped in three panels of high quality PVC Mesh, showcasing the surf safety message.

Star adapted the installation of the mesh from sails tracks to lacing.  The design adaption is to help withstand strong winds and impending cyclonic weather! So far, so good!

The Star team produced the product and managed the installation of the project alongside the Commonwealth Games Unit and City of Gold Coast Lifeguards.

Special Project – Public Safety

Public safety is of the number one priority for organisers of the Games with various strategies put in place to protect the public in the case of a threat.

Star Outdoor has helped to conceal the ‘more unsightly’ side of the event with branded covers for security blast bags and pedestrian protection blocks.

City of Gold Coast – 460 Crowd Control Barriers

Fences to line courses along roads are looking ‘Australia’s Gold Coast Watermelon’ with Star Outdoor’s CCB covers.

Shade provided at transport hubs

Gold Coast bus services will increase from 49,000 a day to 141,000 a day during the games and an extra 4000 bus services a day will be provided on 12 key Gold Coast bus routes.

Working the BMD Urban who is a proud sponsor of the Games, Star Outdoor provided commercially competitive and high-quality marquees to shade visitors as they travel between venues at various transport hubs.

The Star team is proud to have been part of the Dream of the Games which as proven the business is up to the standard demanded of an international event.

Of particular interest were the SuperStar Marquees and the Nipper Banners.
